About Us

Moyne Villa  - Community Focused Football Club

Moyne Villa F.C. was founded in 1977 and is named after Moyne Castle on the Galway Mayo border just north of Headford. Since then we have grown from a hay-shed and a field to state-of-the-art facilities and excellent pitches. Our club boasts a 7a-side artificial playing surface that is open to the public Monday-Friday from 7pm and all day at weekends.

We have 2 of the finest natural playing surfaces in the Galway Football League. This was recognised by the Connacht FA when we were selected to host the Galway round of the Connacht Juvenile Finals in 2014.The feedback, with respect to our facility, was unanimously positive from all Clubs involved in the finals. Both pitches are floodlit to playing standard.

A major part of the ethos of the Club is to provide a Community focus for the greater Headford area. To that end we have provided...........

  1. A 410m lit Amenity walk around Pitch 2. This is available until 11pm each evening.
  2. Pitch 2 has a state of the art community playground.
  3. The latest addition to the facility is the installation of a 20 piece outdoor Gym which is located along the Amenity walk on Pitch 2.
