*** U12 Girls Match Report ***

On a wet and windy night in Drum, the girls U12 put in a stellar performance against Salthill Devon. It was a slow start and the girls found themselves 3-0 down after 12 minutes. After getting some sustained possession the girls managed to pull one back through Alisha O’Malley , who cut through the Salthill defense before cooling slotting the ball in to the corner of the goal. On the stroke of half time Ava Heneghan brought the scoreline back to 3-2 following a great passing move.

Into the second half MV started strongly with Alisha O’Malley unlucky not to equalise with the ball rebounding off the post from a long ranged shot. With constant pressure MV equalised and then took the lead with two quick goals from Ava to complete her hat-trick bringing the scoreline to 4-3. The game ebbed and flowed with chances from both sides before Alisha added a second goal to her tally bringing MV to 5-3. Salthill hit straight back with a 4th goal and continued to put MV under sustained pressure resulting in two penalties being awarded in the final two minutes. The first came off the post and the second of which was well saved by goalie Isabel Hart. A well deserved win for the U12 ladies with everyone putting in strong performances.
