U17 Girls   20/10/2019

Our U17 girls had two home matches in the last five days.

On Wednesday Villa faced Knocknacarra in a league match, losing out 4-2. The visitors' finishing proved the difference between the sides, with Villa failing to take advantage of lots of decent opportunities. Lorna Kearney was Villa's player of the match with two well-deserved goals, one in each half.
This afternoon saw Villa take on Corrib Rangers in a cup quarterfinal. Clodagh Molloy opened the scoring with a header from a corner in the first minute, but the visitors were back on level terms just a minute later. Lorna Kearney made it 2-1 on 28 minutes but Rangers responded with 3 goals in 4 minutes to leave Villa with a mountain to climb. Despite dominating possession in the second half Villa couldn't find the net and it ended 4-2. Best for Villa were Leah Hicks and Lorna Kearney
